This year Surrender came together in the Adelaide CBD. We are grateful to the Coastlands Church on Light Square for making this space available to us. We celebrated a great diversity of participants contributing to the conversation of 'making things right'. It was a great privilege to have Uncle Clyde Rigney, Paul Sparks, Dave Andrews, Jarrod McKenna, Teresa Lee and Joel McKerrow among key voices helping us press into the message of living the sub version of a narrative that puts things right in the world the way God intends.
What made Surrender such a huge success this year in Adelaide was not necessarily the presenters or the amount of people who showed up, but the fact that Surrender has stimulated a movement throughout South Australia and we have many more conversations and activity to look forward to in the coming months. People have connected around the theme and conversations. Networks are popping up as we encourage each other to be the change we want to see in our neighbourhoods.
We are grateful to the team in Melbourne and Adelaide who helped bring Surrender Conference together in Adelaide on September 18-20. We are now attending to the ongoing conversation and movement of the Spirit of God calling us into communities where God is making things right.
Our vision in Adelaide is not that we host a conference once a year, but that we nurture a network of faithful Jesus followers who can be connected to the message Surrender offers and to each other for encouragement. The conference is a great catalyst for connecting with one another and we look forward to doing it again in 2016.
