SURRENDER’s Engine Room Training Days are for passionate youth and young adult leaders, pastors and workers across Victoria. We want to help you engage in seeking the Kingdom come in your local community and global world, and seek to support and encourage you to express justice and mission.
Join in the discussion with our keynote speakers Traci Blackmon and Noel Castellanos, as we explore the theme of Love God, Love Neighbour and Love Enemy. There will be practical workshops and networking opportunities with practitioners, churches and organisations involved in youth and community work.
Engine Room is a space to practically equip and encourage you to journey with young people and communities whilst integrating your faith in the every day practical outworking of your discipleship. We want to encourage you to be part of reshaping the church by journeying with peers in a radical conversation around what it means to follow Jesus to the least, the last and the lost.
Date: Thursday 17 March
Location: Belgrave Heights Convention Centre, 3 Convention Avenue, Belgrave Heights
Noel Castellanos has worked in full-time ministry in Latino, urban communities since 1982, serving in youth ministry, church planting, advocacy and community development in San Francisco, San Jose and Chicago. REVEREND TRACI BLACKMON
The Reverend Traci Blackmon’s life assignment is to advance God’s agenda in the earth through encouraging and empowering people to live their faith. She lives out this calling as the proud Pastor of Christ at the King United Church of Christ in St Louis, Missouri. Her early and prominent response to racial tensions in the aftermath of the killing of Michael Brown, Jr, in Ferguson (which is adjacent to her church) earned Rev. Blackmon an appointment to the Ferguson Commission.
