  • Craig Petty

    CEO

    Craig has stayed involved with Surrender, now in a volunteer leadership role because of how important this work is in bringing us together around the call of Jesus to the margins.

    Over the last two decades, Craig has lead dozens of teams in schools, villages, deserts and beaches and to take on various church staff roles along the way. His day job is working with Compassion to raise awareness and support for children living in poverty. Craig is married to Holly and they have four children, who are fast becoming teenagers and adults. In his spare time, he is trying to grow a truly impressive beard.

  • Tanya Ndiyamba

    Program Director

    Tanya first found fulfilment in the service of those who need it most in 2015, volunteering for youth-run organisation in her country of origin, Zimbabwe. What started as a few hours a week blossomed into a deep passion to dedicate her life to work that would glorify God and allow her to be the demonstration of His love on earth. This has fuelled her previous work with vulnerable children, her current role with surrender and past and current ventures within the sphere of public health and clinical research.

  • Ben Chong

    Leadership Program Director

    After attending his first SURRENDER Conference in 2006, Ben found a home in the SURRENDER community and has stayed connected ever since. Ben is passionate about helping people to lead themselves and others well, with integrity, sustainability and joy. Ben is a professional Christian leadership coach and has trained in Australia and overseas. In addition to his SURRENDER role, he is also the Director of Blueprint Leadership Coaching and was a pastor for 8 years.

    Ben is 2nd generation Malaysian-Chinese and lives on Gubbi Gubbi country (Sunshine Coast) with his wife Chelsea – who he first met at a SURRENDER conference! They are excited to continue serving emerging leaders with SURRENDER. Their daughters Hallie and Maya are excited to cook marshmallows around the next SURRENDER campfire.

  • Daniel A'Vard

    Community Engagement Director

    Daniel’s passion is to build community and connection. Over the last two decades, he has worked for Engineers Without Borders, run his own photography business and facilitated a community arts precinct. More recently, his passion for justice and community has led him to become the most recent addition to the Surrender staff team. Welcome, Daniel!

  • Mark Watt AM

    Mark is passionate about assisting young people reach their full potential through opportunities and relationships having worked with Australia's youth for over 30 years especially through establishing Whitelion and my involvement in Youth Justice. He knows that together we can make a real difference.

  • Heather Cetrangolo

    Heather is an educator and coach in organisational renewal, with 20+ years experience in facilitating personal and collective transformation. She was ordained in the Anglican Church in 2010 and has served in a range of contexts where strategies were tired and declined, leading systemic change and organisational renewal. She has practiced and taught law, trained as a teacher, studied peacebuilding and is currently completing her PhD which focusses on the early Franciscan approach to leading change in the Church and society.

  • Sophal Uoy

    Sophal is a Community Service Program Manager deeply committed to engaging with and improving the lives of disadvantaged people, especially those from migrant communities. He has tertiary qualifications in business, workplace training, counselling, youth services.

  • Scott Hawkins

    Scott is the Senior Minister at Urban Life. With 35+ years of ministry experience, working in many denominations and Christian organisations, he carries a vision for Christians deeply engaged with the communities they’re in. Scott has worked for both larger and smaller churches, and on Saturday mornings you’ll find him at the local Park Run.

    Coco is a forever passionate educator, coach and inquirer of cultures, peoples and communities.
